About Mousumi Banerjee

Mousumi Banerje is the Principal, of Kutapo Institute of Odissi, Creative, Rabindrik and Folk Dance, Kolkata.

An accomplished danseuse specialised in the classical Odissi style of dance, Mousumi Banerjee found her dancing feet within the portals of Rourkela Orissa at the tender each of three. She continued training under the careful guidance and watchful eyes of the renowned Gurus of Orissa, Guru Mahadev Rout and Guru Rabindra Kumar Swain.

Mousumi was a regular performer on national television in India under the UGC's educational programme. She has twice secured State Championship trophies in Odissi dance and has been blessed and awarded by the then erstwhile President of India Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma. Mousumi has enthralled audiences with her performances in dance dramas like KUMARSAMBHAV, KANCHI ABHIJAN, SHYAMA CHITRANGADA & CHANDALIKA.

The notable mixture of ethnic expertise and expressive styles drew audiences and appreciators from all over the nation as she performed with her troupe in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana, Jaipur, UP, Orissa and Kolkata.

What you get

Beginners without experience and those with prior training of a minimum of 2 years can join the workshop on the 8th & 9th of January 2025

Time: 11 am to 1.30 pm (Amateurs)

3 pm to 5.30 pm (2 years Training)

After successful completion of the workshop, the candidate will get an opportunity to perform on Stage in the Cultural Fest program on 11th January 2025

Certificate of Participation in the Barak Festival 2025 will be provided by KRC Foundation
Workshop completion certificate will be provided by Kutapo, Kolkata on 12th January 2025
Best Performers will be awarded during the Closing Ceremony of Barak Festival 2025 on 12th January'25
